County Continues Support of Economic Programs

The County of Ocean has partnered with State Departments and the NJ Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) to present a series of seminars informing residents and business owners how to apply for financial assistance through several programs established in the past few months.

The NJEDA has developed two new programs to assist NJ businesses: Main Street Business Assistance Program and InvestNJ Business Grant Program. The Main Street program assists banks in providing loans to small and mid-size businesses, while InvestNJ provides financial incentives for creating jobs and making capital investments. A number of other programs were also created to assist homeowners facing foreclosure, seniors or disabled homeowners struggling with bills and other residents seeking financial assistance.

This funding is available on a first-come fist served basis. Therefore Ocean County considers it to be very important that area businesses understand program eligibility requirements and application procedures.

In addition to the morning program, a representative from the NJEDA will be available in the afternoon in the Green Room of the Ocean County Library to meet individually and discuss specific concerns and needs.

The County is also working with the St. Francis Center on Long Beach Island to schedule a second seminar for residents and busines owners in the southern part of Ocean County. The date and time of that seminar will be announced in the near future.

Registering for the Seminar

Anyone interested in attending the seminar should register so that we can anticipate the number of attendees. However, there is no charge to attend the seminar. Attendees can register online, by phone (732-929-2054), or by printing and faxing the registration form (732-244-8396).
